I've been puzzled by the vilification by some of vehicular Cyclists, and this laid it out pretty clearly for me.<br /><br />I think you're right that everybody would do well to ride informed by (even if not in strict philosophical adherence to) Forester, but V.C. do them selves a disservice when they adamantly oppose all separate facilities, and they tend to be discounted as kooks when they'd be better off realizing that separate facilities aren't (yet) mandatory (in Washington) and their advocacy would be better targeted at making sure that the facilities built are done so thoughtfully and competently.<br /><br />It saddens me that the new trail through the "jungle" below beacon hill, while beautiful, ends at such a useless inaccessible terminus.
